I frequently hold “Tweetchat live” where I pick a topic and people can come into the chat room and ask questions and learn. This week we planned a great Facebook chat, and technology got in our way (I couldn’t tweet as myself, boy was I having an identity crises!) So we moved the live Q&A over to my Facebook biz page. I summarized the conversation for you. I think there are some great tips here!
Laurie Schwarz Hurley– I see to the left on this page all the links for YT, Blog, Reviews, Web Address – how does one add those to a business page? Warrior-Preneur: edit page, apps, there is all kinds of good stuff there and they are SAFE to use!
Rita Brennan Freay How many times a day do you recommend posting to your Biz page? All call to action or mixture? Robbie Schlosser 3 EBM’s/day means 10 posts/day, right? Yvonne Elm Hall Is there a specific day time that is better for those three posts, and do you post them all at once or better to spread them out? Warrior-Preneur: 3 times a day for EBM, blogs, press events are extras. I believe in a global economy-do you? If so, if true then no post anytime. Fri-Say-Sun are DEAD on FB. 40% fewer people log in on the weekends. Robbie, hopefully on face book you are getting enough comments and likes to engage people on your page. That’s the trick over here right?
Warrior-Preneur: Did you know that you can now EDIT a comment after you posted it? If you have ever submitted your comment (hit enter, and then seen the misspelling, you can now fix it without deleting it! If you type something and then post it- hit the ‘x’ by the post to “fix” it. Also you can still add a second paragraph…shift+enter allows you to…
Warrior-Preneur Sometimes I find that people are challenged with getting people to comment and like what’s on their page. Know that it gets better when you get to about 400 likes. But also keep in mind “calls to action”. Too often people post “statements of fact” and often people read those and think, but aren’t CALLED to respond. Sales strategy 101 says you have to tell people what you want them to do, or they don’t do it. A simple one is “I’d love your thoughts!” or any version like that. Also, remember to show up with a personality! People engage personality!
Robbie Schlosser- When posting from a FB business page, do you recommend a signature always, sometimes or never? How about @tag your name? Warrior-Preneur MMS allows a signature and it’s ok at times for sure. especially an url- like that-tagging your name seems a bit self serving, it is your page after-all, so not sure why you’d want to do that.
Warrior-Preneur oh, here is another little crazy thing- “suggest to friends” no longer works with the new pages. So I recommend you post your page link to your profile several times a week with an ENGAGING or curious reason people should come join. For example, I only post “Feisty Ann” video to my page, not my profile, so people come to like it, to watch and comment. You can also now PM them to join your page. Just be careful of your approach-too sales-y won’t work.
Kemya Scott- Hi Ann, @MissKemya here. I’m a newbie to fb and haven’t set up a biz fan page yet. Recommendations on driving traffic to a biz page when you’re a startup? I was thinking of holding off on creating a biz page until I generate more fb friends/clients. Thoughts? Warrior-Preneur: Hi Kemya! I am about quality over quantity, always. There are ways to “get numbers”, but are they responsive? Typically not. So waiting is never bad. It’s more about knowing what you will post 3 times a day, so build content now. Also did you see my blog post about this topic? Here is the article if someone reads this post: 9 Tips to grow your page
Warrior-Preneur: LOVE the new POLL feature- wowzee as a strategy to capture proprietary data for a blog or client info? WOW!
Warrior-Preneur: Did u know that you can get notifications for your page on Facebook like you do for your profile (where the world is in the header)? click on the “use facebook as {YOUR BIZ NAME}” on the right of your page, the notifications switch over to your page from your profile- it’s how I am paying attention to this chat!
Warrior-Preneur: one last tip- you can now tag in a comment, but be careful! If the person is ALREADY in the stream they are getting notifications!
I would love for you to join us for future chats! I post when they are coming and the topic in advance on my Facebook page and on twitter! What would you like me to discuss in a live chat?

Fantastic information. I will be revisiting this page to put some of these tips into action! Thank you!
Editing comment and polls new to me – always something new in SoMe which is why lifetime membership of SNCC is such good value! Unfortunately – or rather fortunately as I LOVE it – I was rather busy coaching to attend this one but love your tweet chats. What would I like you to talk about? Thinking of some of the questions I’ve been asked by people on 30 Day intensive who are new to it – twitter protocol, how to dive in, who to follow etc.

this was a fun chat! I was glad that I could attend and that all the kinks got worked out….I was excited about tagging in comments and did not realize that “suggest to friends” did not exist anymore.
The topic that I am interested in is actually twitter chats and how to access them and participate in the best way. I know there are applications, but I am not savvy with them. Thanks Ann — Rachel
Great info..i would love to hear some thoughts next week on setting up blogs..what to add, what to leave out..links, ads, videos, How to make it look good without it becoming cluttered.
I was at both your tweet chat and your facebook chat…I like the format of both. I would love more tips about increasing ‘likes’ to a business page and engaging on Twitter.

I like that call to action on the Facebook page – never even thought about that!
Obviously I was following along on the chat yesterday and found it to be quite helpful. Since I am an SNCC lifetime member (er, coach, too!) some of this I knew, but some I didn’t so always good to watch the whole stream Can never get enough info. One thing I would like to see in the future is more on Linked In strategies. I am finding it difficult to get quality stuff out of my groups and I am not sure I want to start my own due to my current workload. Thanks again, I will tune in for more for sure!
Are they always the same day/time? If I’m remembering it was Wed 10am PT? I have an ongoing commitment at that time – so may just have to be content with finding the conversation later… No specific requests at this time, I always seem to learn something new, like I didn’t know you could edit a comment, (I always copy/paste/edit, delete the mistake post.) Also did not know about the shift+enter.
I am excited to see this post, because I could not make it to the chat. Hope to be able to come to some in the future. This is such important information! Really appreciate the ‘call to arms’ explanation. I’ve hesitated a bit with that because it seems so scripted (seeing it everywhere on FB), but what you said about it makes sense. Lots to learn…thanks for giving us these tidbits.

I missed the chat and had picked it up on your page, but am glad for the “summary review” here! I value the “fine tuning” that these chats offer–always giving me more to tweak, add and ponder! Sometimes it seems overwhelming but i know as i just keep incorporting one thing at a time and then another and another, I’ll have everything I need thanks to you. Thanks, Ann!!
I could not join the chat so am happy that you shared all these questions and answers here today! So much to learn and know and understand, so I am very thankful that I have you and this whole group as a resource. Thank you!
I too was unable to join the chat this week and it’s great that you shared so many great tips on your blog. I also read the comments on your biz page which was very helpful. Part of what I love about you Ann (only part because there is so much more!) is that you give so generously of your knowledge and experience. This is a great example of that. Always more to learn from you!

I love how you continue to give at all times Ann…these twitter or FB chats with the opportunity to ask questions is great. Thanks so much. I always tell people that I owe my SM success to my lessons from you!
This was my first tweetchat and last week was my first twub…both were very informative and easy flowing. Learned some new tips for making a biz page and how to use it effectively. The poll and editing comments – news to me! And ironically, before the chat I did not have access to the poll feature, and miraculously immediately following the tweetchat I did have access…HOW did you do that?! I’ve heard you work wonders…but didn’t realize it was so fast! You are an amazing woman, always helping and teaching others…I am so glad I am a lifetime member of SNCC, because there is so much to learn with SoMe continually changing! And its fabulous that you share your knowledge and expertise with anyone who shows up to the tweetchat/twub…all are welcome:) So, what do I want to know…more about FB lists and more on Linkedin are areas I need to conquer so I’d love more information that can help me get those working better for me. Thank you for sharing!

Love all your tips and shares. So much fun to have different types of questions. I would love to know more about lists. Building lists in FB. I love your program. So glad I signed up. I have learned so much, and with you Ann, I am always learning & growing. Love how you use subtleties in your approach.

Lots of great tips here as always. Even the bits I’ve heard already – it’s good to have them repeated. I don’t think we can hear them often enough. I loved the tip of telling people on my profile about activity on my page and sending them over to read and watch stuff. I’m finding there’s a lot of trial and error in finding out what topics work well and which just slip by unnoticed. I would love to get my Twitter activity switched up a gear as I sense that there are great opportunities there just waiting so always open to picking up more tips around that.

My first tweet chat. Thanks for using this format. As always information that is relevant and immediately causes a shift in the way I do things. Thanks Ann.
i got my account frozen and dont know why. so i created another one and facebook i am assuming froze that one too? how can i get an account back on facebook?
I’m so sorry to hear that happened to you. Your accounts can only be removed if you broke terms of service. Because facebook is a free account they can remove them at any time if people complain that you are breaking TOS.
