It’s day two. Have to say that I thought about this challenge most the night last night. First there was this energy with everyone that has joined in this challenge and agreed to hold each other accountable. That energy was palpable! Then I started to think: “what the HELL will I write!” I’d wake up thinking about it! Then I started thinking about my book series concept and I felt all the limiting beliefs come rushing forward. “I can’t possibly write 90-100 pages on those topics!” “I have nothing to say that hasn’t been said before.” “It’s really not original.”
OMG! I, the woman who has taught COUNTLESS other people to find their voice doesn’t have one!
Holy CRAP!
Ok, obviously this exercise is going to be great because my experience will help my clients as well. My own learning and journey in this process can be a model for others. I REALLY want to get past just writing blog posts though. I want to get to the BOOK. Barbara DeAngelis says EVERYONE has a story. I question whether that means they have a book!
Hmmm… Finding your VOICE is Sexy. Lol! NOW that could be the book! (By the way there is an LB, of course, so many people think they KNOW their voice when I meet them at first!) Maybe it’s knowing your TRUE voice. I think I need to focus on WHY I am the one to have a voice on this issue.
(Looking for part one in the series? 30 day writing challenge)

Ann, I love the way you said that – I need to focus on why I am the one to have a voice on this issue. I’m sure there are some real gems in there for you when you get into the free flow with it.
It’s great to get insights in the midst of the writing. Looking at stuff that we’ve just been taking for granted.
I can so relate to what you’ve written about not having enough stuff to fill the books or find original stuff that others haven’t said. I’m looking at this with audio recordings and asking myself the same things.
Enjoying the journey and thanks for calling it into being Ann.

Haha, this made me laugh & smile. YOU know me and the story of “my voice”…lol! Your post is so honest and true, and I am feeling it too! Its good to know I am not alone in thinking what the hell am I writing…struggling with writing all this personal crap coming out that I would never share, LB’s, and trying to get to where I want to be (not exactly sure yet)…and the 30min challenge is on my mind….all the time! I guess just writing will get me past it, as I am digressing and all over the place at times, to clear the space for the greatness that is in there…to come:) Thanks for sharing and encouraging us….to take this challenge with you! I am thinking being away and at the beach, will help me even more:)
Write on….

actually that HOLY CRAP was your voice in my head @rita4kids !
I love that you are so human and honest Ann. This is just what I was writing about today. And I’m not even trying to or thinking about writing a book! I have nothing to write about. My mind is empty. How am I going to do this for 30 minutes EVERY day? Limiting beliefs are killers – they kill motivation, they kill self-esteem, they kill spirit. That’s what they are designed for. Maybe 30 days of writing no matter what will help us all find our true voice.
Keep telling it like it is. As if you wouldn’t! 🙂

big huge hug @susanberland !
I love that you share the parts of you that are just like us in the SNCC group. It’s good to know I don’t have to live up to emulate an impossible icon. I just need to overcome the same fears and limiting beliefs to move forward. So glad I took the class and jumped into this challenge. But then I’m only into day 7!
