3. Remind yourself that you deserve more than just “getting by.” Have you ever noticed that when we are asked: “How was your day”, the expected, or most common answer is “fine.” FINE is not a good word! False Intentions that Never Excite? Why would you want any moment of your life to be fine? Get out of the mindset of “I’m getting by” as it will destroy thrival in your life. It’s like kryptonite to Superman. Stop yourself when such thoughts arise in you. When someone asks you how your day was, do not say: “I survived.” Or “It was fine.” Make sure you think about the greatness of your day. How did you contribute to solutions? Who did you offer help? Where did you stretch and grow?
A Warrior-preneur also listens for and cares about a real answer when they ask the question! So, How was your day?

Warrior-Preneurs are dedicated to making sure what they do and how they think creates thrival all around them. Yesterday we shared the first tip of “Celebrating More Often.” Stephen Covey of the 7 Habits of Highly Successful People says that most people spend 99% focus on what went wrong, successful people on what went right. Did you celebrate yesterday?!
2. Immerse yourself in something that completely energizes you. When you do something that you enjoy, you regularly connect with the feelings of thrival, and you can relate it to your life more often. Notice how you feel in that state. Do you lose a sense of time? Are you more focused and energized? Repeating those feelings in other areas of your life will help dramatically. Especially places where you feel the opposite. Today spend time noticing what energizes you; how it makes you feel. Then try to connect those feelings in other situations.
Learning what energizes others can also be a powerful way to find a Thrival mindset. What energizes you?

I do not believe in survival — I believe in “thrival.” But, I have always been told to survive. Many of us have grown up hearing: “If you can just survive this…” or, “Wow, I knew you would survive.” It is because of this that the survival mindset is deeply ingrained in our thoughts and overcoming it can seem difficult. You can have a thrival mindset and a life filed with “thrival”! As a Warrior-Preneur developing this mindset is critical to your success. Over the next several posts we will cover FIVE FABULOUS WAYS to create it in your life!
1. Celebrate more often. Believers in thrival understand that life is a celebration. In 2008 we started Champagne Thursdays in our home. Our goal was to celebrate even the smallest of our successes and happiness. When you celebrate your success and happiness, you celebrate thrival. How can you celebrate more often in your life? What did you achieve today, at work, with a co-worker, in your business that needs to be celebrated? How can you be happy with what is happening now? If it’s not Champagne, how can you take a moment to quietly show appreciation for a job well done – to yourself?
