Honoring fans who understand the power of engagement and connectology on social media is the goal of this post. Just my way of giving to those that practice what I teach! Most are not clients, some are, but they are amazing people – worth knowing!
Today I honor Tanya Boggs- this woman simply amazes me-fun, fierce, loving; she embodies beauty. And her career? Finding the inner beauty through pictures! As a matter of fact I am getting new ones done by her soon!
Get to know Tanya-find her on facebook and twitter-tell her you learned about her on this post – I bet she will connect!
1. One thing that makes you – not your biz unique: Only one thing? I’m not afraid to take risks. That applies to both my personal and professional life. I’ve jumped out of a plane. I ride a motorcycle. I’ve moved across the country, a couple of times. And I’m getting ready to do it again, hopefully for the LAST time! I take risks in my photographs and for my photographs (but that’s a story for another day).
2. Who are your power partners (not clients): My power partners are event planners, people and organizations who provide resources for parents and kids, ob/gyn’s and midwives, pediatricians, dentists and orthodontists, image consultants, business coaches, website designers, make-up artists and stylists, high school juniors who want to be models and reps for my senior portrait division.

4. Your favorite thing about running your own biz: My favorite thing about running my business is getting paid for doing what I love and having the freedom and flexibility to create a schedule that works for me and my life. Sometimes I feel guilty that I get to have this much fun, get paid for it, AND I get the ideal schedule that fits my lifestyle.
5. What you do: I am a portrait photographer. I love people. They are so interesting, their quirks and habits and even their hang-ups. Each shoot is so different just based on the personality in front of my camera. I see my job as being the person who puts all the pieces of the puzzle together to get just the right shot to suit the person or family I’m working with.
6. Who would you most like to meet (type of person) that would help you get to the next level: I would most like to meet a photography mentor, another photographer running a highly successful photography studio that could share their expertise, insights, and past mistakes, that would be willing to mentor me on this newest path of my journey.
What one thing did you find that connects you to Tanya or makes you want to know more?

As a past Friday Facebook Fan, welcome to the club Tanya!
I can totally relate to the freedom you have when running your own business, and how sometimes you feel “guilty” for having fun. I run an at home daycare and I only have after school kids so I get lots of time alone with my son who is still a preschooler. I feel “guilty” that I get to stay up late and sleep in if I want to and still support my son and me. It's a huge blessing! I guess I don't feel so guilty now that I know someone else feels the same way!
Hey Tanya, the one thing you said about taking risks really resonates with me. As a business owner, I feel that I usually have to do that and it usually pays off. I hope you find a really good mentor!
