I recently started a new exercise program based on how I achieve success in my life. Yes I do vision boards, but let’s face it manifesting it isn’t enough. Action is required. This video shares the power of TEN in achieving success:
The steps in the video are CRITICALLY important, do BOTH forced rankings, skipping it will not give you the true reality check you need.
Then, compare the lists. Where can you make changes now you make the “reality list” look for like the “need to do list”? If you really want to achieve it, you must act as if, making these lists match is important! One of the things I share in all my audio inspiration programs, like Building Your Business is the “Just 10” model for success. Just 10 means you focus 10 minutes EVERY DAY on the things that are most important.
What changes do you need to make, and how are you going to achieve greater success, happiness, fitness, wealth, relationship…after your “reality check”?
Ann M. Evanston is a “Chief Breakthrough Officer” teaching other Business Warriors how to slow down, and find the most unique part of their business that makes them stand out among the crowd. She has been named one of the top marketing consultants by About.com, is a guest blogger for Showcasing Women and takes pride in moving you from “blah, blah, blah” to “BOOM, BOOM. BOOM!”
Good work Ann, you continue to be an inspiration! Simplicity is often the path to enlightenment.
Yes, manifestation is not enough! I'm learning how to take action. Thanks for the perfect ten tips. what ten thing, yes I like it. Advice with action steps, very helpful.
I like the forced ranking you recommend. I have a white board that I write the 10 things I must get done for that day. It forces me to focus on the top priorities for the day. My best days are when I see 10 check marks on my board. Using this concept to larger business and life goals makes sense.
Thanks for the idea, Darcie. I have the white board but don't use it that way.
Love it! Thanks Darci! ~Hope (going to buy a white board)
excellent idea. i think that the key to achieving our goals lies in being as specific + realistic as possible, + i like that you're doing that here. i hadn't thought about the ranking concept before – think it could prove really helpful. good ideas, ann!
I participated in a Bible study a while back where we studied the significance of the number 10. As you mentioned, 10 is one of the perfect numbers. It also signifies the perfection of divine order. Where we find the number 10, we also find completeness of order– nothing lacking and nothing over. It symbolizes that the cycle is complete and that everything is in its proper order. Enough of my babbling.
When I focus most of my efforts on my top value activities, I achieve much more than before. Do not know if 10 in manageable for me but may rethink this as I ponder the significance of the number 10.
Okay – all very relevant for me right now but my brain hurts (LOL) so I am going to have to work on this. I see what you mean by the challenge you were laying down on my blog post the other day. I shall work on this and lay it out there at some point.
Forced rankings–very helpful for those of us who easily create things to do but less easily create priorities (or perhaps I should say “less willingly comply with them”!). Already on board with the “10 minutes” approach, which is amazingly powerful.
Your voice is always welcome for directing us to action (and reality).
This is something I am excited to try now…I especially want to try this to clarify how I am coping with some challenging and also painful situations in my life right now. Being able to see a clearer picture of what I want and what I am doing and not doing to make that a reality will be very interesting! Thank you, Ann, for the motivation and inspiration!
Ann, you and Michael Dooley seem like you are looking into my life. Thanks for the process.
Fabulous! What an awesome reality check and boy, do I have some changes to make! Thanks once again Ann for the Kick in the pants!
Great and simple process of deciding where to go and where you are and then prioritizing what needs to happen. Simple, yet powerful.
Woo, I am scared to do that! It's a fantastic idea and I think it will really help me (and others) change the direction of their lives. I am going to do this together with my husband tonight.
Fabulous ideas Ann! I'm going to do this exercise for my book writing. Since I know there is so much more to publishing a book then the actual writing…including editing, marketing, layout etc…this is the perfect exercise, keeping the end result in mind…to be sure to focus on all aspects to creating a fabulous and best selling book. Thanks!
Feisty Ann rides again. Clever how you make us see possibilities and realities and what we need to do to turn it around. The top ten high notes. I like that.

Great exercise, Ann! So smart to break out the “10” both in our ideal visualization and in the reality check. I need to do this exercise for a number of things in my life. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hi Ann,
I like the idea of ranking the 10 most important things, and then slapping them around with Reality 😉 It might hurt to be honest with yourself but that's growth.
Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful day.
Ryan
Excellent reality check to compare priorities to time spent on priorities.
I clicked on “Building Your Business” to learn more. I didn’t want to spend the time filling out the info before I learned what the cost is, and more details. So I closed the window.
