Transformation is NOT the Goal: Transcendence Is

Transformation is NOT the Goal: Transcendence Is

True TranscendenceAlmost 3 years ago (my, time flies) I had what I now call a transcendence in my life and business. Not a transformation. I’ll explain more in this article!

[Tweet “Transcendence, for me, is different than transformation. “]

See, I have been a speaker and coach forever! (No, really, since 1990!) I’ve watched myself and others transform…only to transform right back to who they were before the training about two weeks later. Sounds familiar? You have EVERY good intention…might even do one or two things…but you fall back into your “old self.”

In my mind a chameleon transforms. It transforms its color and it can always go back to green. But the chameleon will always be a chameleon. A butterfly transcends. It will never go back to being a caterpillar. It truly has transcended what it was before.

What I’ve realized is that I have transcended many times in my life. You probably have too. Yet knowing how to do it with intention is ultimately the key. So I have taken my psychology background, my 18 years business savvy, and what I went through those years ago and developed a program called “True Transcendence.” (Ok, working title, it may evolve!) See, the ability to truly transcend and NEVER go bback is such an important part of next level of success!

Over the last year I have been “testing” the steps needed to transcend and putting the work and training around it- so exciting!

I began in my Meetup, Women Wine and Wisdom. With the questions I’m asking in that group and the training work I’m developing I’m now able to show others how to transcend and never go back to where they were before! This first live program is coming in June!

I am planning to share some of those things in these blogs, so I hope you will join me on the journey

Accepting Yourself and Business Success

Accepting Yourself and Business Success

Self-worth limitlessJung said “The most terrifying thing is to accept oneself completely.” This is so critically important to having a successful business of your own. I didn’t realize it until I got personally attacked (well I thought personal, my self-worth needed some work though!).

I love working with entrepreneurs to build their successful businesses! I love seeing them get really clear about what it is that they sell and how to ask for a price that they deserve. I love to teach them how to go about doing that with greater ease.

And then self-worth gets in the way. Which is why I am proud that I have a psychology background and can apply strategies with clients to build self-worth. Lack of self-worth is why you may:

  • Lower your price point
  • Question if you know enough to be considered an expert
  • Feel personally attacked when a critic shows up

It is so critical we are able to move to a place of truly accepting ourselves.

  • Do you fully and completely accept yourself? Can you accept all of your flaws and fears, edges and imperfections?
  • Can you stand completely naked in front of the mirror, alone with just the thoughts in your head?
  • Can you do that and be full of love and acceptance?

That is self-worth!

What to Blog About: 3 Tips for Entrepreneurs

Blog! What to blog about is a continuous question! It’s probably one of the biggest challenges for entrepreneurs. You get it. You read my previous blog on the numbers. Intellectually you want to blog. And then you go to write something and the mind goes blank.

That is why in my Confidence and Content Creation program I show people a very easy way to always have content, on a weekly basis. I also show them how to repurpose that same content for bigger visibility online, and how to use it in their automated system.

What do I teach them? There are three ways to think about content:

1. Tell stories. Stories work and connect from a marketing standpoint.

2. Use what I teach to my COMPEL. Speak. Sell MasterMind clients and develop your BBR. Your Bad-Assery Branded Resource is your organized system that you can constantly share information from.

3. Think about what your clients or potential customers ask you about and write those blogs.

I’ll throw in a bonus tip, look at what your competitors write about and do your version of it. What’s really important here, you need to stand out as an expert with an opinion in order to really increase leads and sales. Don’t just regurgitate what other people say. It is though a great way to get ideas, especially if you haven’t developed your BBR as yet!

The Bullying of Business: My Story

The Bullying of Business: My Story

No BullyingHave you ever been abused?  Taking advantage of? Stolen from? Bullied?

Maybe as I ask you those questions you are flashing back to childhood. How many of you, though, have experienced these kind of things as an adult?

I have for sure. And it’s interesting being an entrepreneur and experiencing those kinds of things in your adult business life. I honestly had never imagined being hurt like that as a business person. Ever.

I never expected to feel lied to, abused, bullied and betrayed. Maybe I thought there was some emotional distance in my work.

Boy was I wrong.

See, I had an amazing relationship with an organization. We dated well! Both of us seemingly knew our roles and loved and respected that partnership. It was great until I decided to leave. With full grace and integrity I gave plenty of notice and opportunity to train my replacement. Then the nightmare began.

I had led so many women to love this organization I didn’t know what to do. And I didn’t know how to deal, so my warrior retreated to her safe place.

Some people close enough to me came and learned and understood. The majority of women had no idea why I just disappeared. I hurt them unknowingly because I was hurt.

In this fragile space I actually had a client, who got tremendous results working with me, ask to teach my work. About a month later she stole it all and made it her own business. That placed me in full victim mode.

I retreated even deeper because I had to learn how to be vulnerable and open again and not be worried about being taken advantage of. It meant that I left people in my network hanging. And I deeply apologize for that.

Now I have come out the other side: a better woman, and surer of how to deal in the future with the crazy things that can knock you upside your head and business. I’ve come out unafraid to share my story. I’ve come out unafraid of the bullies and bad-mouths.

They can’t hurt me anymore. I’m excited to re-emerge. Excited to be more vulnerable. More successful. More ready.

All I hope is that, if you are one of those people left disappointed in me, and you’re reading this, you will forgive me and get to know the new Ann. I look forward to getting to know you once again. And if you did not know the old Ann. I think you will really appreciate the new one!

4 Reasons Why Blogging is Better Business for Entrepreneurs

I have said it forever, “If you do one thing, blog!” Back in 2008 I started “Blogger Monday with Ann Evanston.” It first started on Twitter, and as it grew we moved it over to Facebook. The goal was all about blogging, creating a community of bloggers, and sharing that support. The phenomenon of blogging has not changed.

Guess what? I still say that to my clients. Blogging is the cornerstone of your content strategy. If you write blogs you can turn them into long term nurture strategy in your auto responder. You can turn them into content to share with customers as well! AND they will become the TOP organic traffic driver to your website!

Blogging though is critical from a visibility standpoint. Here are 4 reasons why blogger leads to better business:

  • 77% of people on the Internet read blogs.
  • Websites that have blogs also have 434% more indexed pages and search engines.
  • 61% of US online consumers have made a purchase based on reading a blog.
  • Small businesses that blog generate 126% more leads.

I’m always telling my clients there are two goals; generate leads and close sales. So it’s time to start blogging! It’s a powerful strategy that helps you have content that is valuable across multiple marketing strategies. This is what I love doing in my mastermind Compel Speak Sell, showing you how to simplify the content you need and how use it in multiple places to increase leads and sales!
