Sunday Morning

CoffeeMugI love Sunday morning. Even when I feel I could sleep in longer, I get up while my husband is still sleeping. I grind those beans and brew coffee. There is nothing moving in the house or neighborhood. It is so quiet and peaceful! I love sitting in my living room and reading, or sometimes I indulge and watch a movie!

I love Sunday morning even more when my hubby takes an extra hour and “man caves” in the bedroom when he wakes up and watches some TV!!

This moment, even if it only lasts an hour, is one of the extraordinary moments in my life. It is one of those times when I am totally at peace with ME. It’s interesting, because last week I wrote about being versus doing. And Sunday mornings I am being. I think allowing myself to just be, allows me to do the things I need to do for success.

Trust me, I am always me (my clients will tell you they love that about me, you get the same Ann no matter what!), life has this way of supporting the disconnection between Be and DO. It is so easy to get into “what do I need to do next” without connecting to who we are, what makes us most us. In my “Vision of Your Most Influential Self” program I teach about the 6 core areas we need to nurture for success. Sunday morning nurtures my spirit.

Sunday morning gives me strength to be me.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

What do you want to be when you grow up?

Lately, this question has led to a journey in my life. It’s a very interesting question, BE when you grow up. What we really talk about is what we will DO, not be. I do speaking, coaching, and personal development.

I am good at what I do.

But have I really learned to BE what I am intended to be?

Ok, deep huh! I am on a journey of being, versus doing. For the first time in my life, I am allowing it to be. Being is all about this vision. This vision of working with entrepreneurs on the REAL shit, not just sales and marketing.

And it’s funny when I talk with friends, they always m

ove the conversation to doing! So I step back and just BE with the idea or suggestion. I find just being hard. For example, I recently had an experience with my husband that was very much being: present. In the moment. Connected. IT WAS AWESOME. Then two days later I found myself trying to recreate that moment, doing what it took to have all of that again. And guess what? It sucked! I needed to just BE again.

Now don’t get me wrong, to have tremendous success, I need to DO THINGS. There is no way around it. BEing is powerful shit though. BEing is about real visibility, truly allowing the Warrior to become vulnerable…that kind of being

is powerful.

This process of being is the cornerstone to my newest program True Transcendence: A Warrior’s Journey to Success and Happiness.

Can you Be versus do? Can you define yourself without talking about the things you do?

Women Who Inspire – Joan Rivers

Women Who Inspire – Joan Rivers

All my friends will tell you that I’m not really in to celebrities. I’m much more of a chef and winemaker fan! There are a few celebrities though that have made an impact on my life. Joan Rivers has been one of them. Coming home after our vacation and being off grid I learned of her surgery and being put into a medically induced coma. With bated breath we listened every day to the news to see what would happen. Sadly she has passed, as most of you know.

Joan Rivers was a celebrity that I deeply appreciated because of who she was and how she lived her life. There’s so much that we can all learn from her, if you ask me! I started wearing her jewelry over 17 years ago. The first piece was bought by my mother. Her bee jewelry was all about doing the impossible! You can see my collection in the picture below!

Her jewelry led me to ask “How do I represent myself on stage? What is my sense of style and how can I make it my own?  How can I be unique and still be fashionable and forward?” Yes, I learned a ton from a comedian! I also learned how to really have a sense of humor in my life, as she did.

Most recently, I have been watching her reality TV show with her daughter and grandson. The last three years I have learned how Joan Rivers lives life and every moment to the fullest. I’d laugh and cry in admiration for her while watching that show. As she passed I’m sure she had every intention of being the back this month with a big bold loud voice box living her life full out again. That, to me, is where I want to go in my life.

How are you living fully every day? Alive? Vibrantly? Full of love and laughter? Reaching for the impossible like the bee? And always, always, always, pushing yourself to live the biggest, bestest, life you can live.

Thank you Joan, you’re truly an inspiration.
