The ritual of centering, and creating a sacred space. Such an important part of energizing and creating balance in your life. Every time I have a women’s conference, my MasterMind retreat, or my women’s retreat it’s even more important. These are the “big things” in my work. When I have a group of amazing women showing up, ready to be vulnerable, to step in, reach, and grow, I must have the strength to hold the container.
Centering.
One obvious centering ritual is just to be sure that I energetically channel what I think is important in the material for those that are showing up. I write each of their names on the cover of the workbook and flip through the pages feeling the vibe and energy. I visualize the energy and breakthroughs that will happen while we are together. I feel laughter and love.
Of course I will be open to possibilities and what needs show up in the room! That’s why this centering ritual is about energy and heart.
Centering also requires that I nurture self.
Painting my nails is one of my favorite! Of course, Earl picked the colors, LOL. I adore the ritual of painting my nails, feeling pretty, feminine and strong. I am even more centered by having someone nurture me in such a simple way by picking colors for my nails. Simply out of love.

Centering is a powerful way to indulge in your senses, your spirit, and the strength of who you are. It allows me to be more of who I need to be in the world. Sometimes it’s just simple things that create that power.
Do you have simple rituals that encourage you to center?

It’s always interesting to become an entrepreneur and then to really think about the business side of success. What you love to do, your passion, it’s typically not the business! That is why in my MasterMind, COMPEL, Speak, Sell, we spend time on looking how you leverage what you’re doing and get it organized into systems so that you can have long term success.
No matter what, there are certain things that need to be put into place in order to earn what you desire. And I don’t care if that’s $3000 a month or $300,000 a month!
That is why I have been working on the 5 Essential Elements of a Bad-Assery Business™ for you. Each of these essential elements are important as the foundation of your success to be able to grow the level you want. Many people, actually (even I did) grow financially, THEN struggle because these are not in place, as they need to be to fully leverage what you do. Our focus in the MasterMind are assuring that you are leveraging your business in order to grow.
These five elements are RARELY talked about, especially in a cohesive and seamless system. That’s why I share them here, so you can see each, and understand what it takes to build your Bad-Assery business!
[Tweet “We think if we take what we so passionately love, and “put a shingle up” people will pay! HAHAHA!”]
The joke is on us!
The five essential elements are:
1-Vision of Self: You are, in many ways, your business. How you build your esteem, deal with your limiting beliefs, have strong boundaries for life balance, and step into the visibility of being known is important. This also has to do with how strongly you believe in yourself and your abilities. Are you ready mentally and emotionally to achieve what you desire? Are you ready to do what it takes? Ready to be big, bold and VISIBLE.
2-Marketing: Let’s face it, it doesn’t matter how great you think you are if nobody knows how great you are! Marketing is the strategy that allows you to be visible, and to be known, liked and trusted. What is your marketing plan and how is it being leveraged to help you grow? The ability to have a plan that helps you know and find your tribe, how they find you when out and looking, and most importantly, how you create a “prospect, into lead, into customer” plan.
3- Sales: Ok, this is the ultimate litmus test a business…revenue. Yes, I said revenue. Oh, so you just need a steady income now? Well, what do you charge? Do you own it? Do you have a sales and special offer strategy? Can you close in person, online and on the stage? Do you have a plan for the ONLY TWO KINDS of money you can make?
4-Customer WOW: You have to build the plan of how you will execute what you say you will do and make sure your clients are truly delighted with how you handle that. This also needs to be placed into a system so it eases your time. Once they buy, it isn’t over! Now it’s time to make them go “ohhh-ahhh!!! What is the strategy to keep, repeat, delight?
5-LEVERAGE: If you really want to earn more with ease you must leverage. This is all about the plan to “duplicate yourself” and “be TOP OF MIND”. Automation, scalability, and making money while you sleep! At least three of the pillars above require technology in this day and age! It is not going away! Technology absolutely helps you in systematizing what you do so that you can earn more with ease! It is a necessary part of growing a healthy business
Which of these do you need to work on?

Self-worth is so important for running a successful business. It’s crucial to be able to have confidence in what you think and feel, even if somebody else differs in their opinion or mindset.
I recently had an experience that really hit home about how critical this is. In a conversation with a friend’s girlfriend we had a clear difference of opinion. She so wanted me to agree with her. When I didn’t agree, she tried to convince me. When I still didn’t, she started to cry.
At that point I put my hand on her arm and decided to end the conversation. She could not stop crying and told me she thought I was mean for disagreeing.
To be successful in a business, you must know your mind, and have confidence in it, even when others disagree. If you constantly think others are mean when they disagree, it will be al long hard road.
[Tweet ” One of the things I work with clients in building their self-worth is
understanding the concept of stepping into “educo”.”]
This is about really taking what you have learned, and tapping into your self-worth and knowledge, and making it yours. It means that you can confidently move forward knowing that what you have to offer the world is special. You don’t need somebody else to agree to know that’s true.
Are you able to surround yourself with others that think differently than you, to allow them to have their own viewpoint, and still have confidence in yourself? Are you able to own how you think and feel without everybody agreeing?
This is why “Vision of Self” is the first and most important frame of a Bad-Assery business, and so critical that I work with clients to have the strength to step up and out.

Becoming a skilled entrepreneur is, honestly, the biggest challenge of all. It’s the true implementation of the systems that create your success. I remember the first time I saw Michael Gerber speak, he brought me to tears. Author of “The E – Myth Revisited,” he speaks to this very important point. Michael says: “Most entrepreneurs are merely technicians with an entrepreneurial seizure. Most entrepreneurs fail because you’re working in your business rather than on your business.”
The true skill for success is understanding how to put systems in place that create the business you desire. That’s working on your business, rather than in it.
What’s interesting is there are many speakers and coaches out there that teach systems. Sales systems, marketing systems, branding systems, speaking systems, the systems are endless! You could go to a class or webinar every day of the week and learn about systems!
But therein lies the problem.
[Tweet “Continuously learning about systems confuses implementing systems. And you must implement them to have success.”]
What I find is many entrepreneurs go to a class, learn the system, think they’ve got it down, and then go home and don’t implement.
So what do they do? They take another class. When what they really needed to do was implement the system.
That’s why I love my MasterMind program. In COMPEL. Speak. Sell we focus on the core systems it takes to make your business successful. They are what I call the “5 Frames of a Bad-Assery Business”. Because the participants are consistently working on implementing one system, they are able to measure and monitor results, prove success, and eventually adapt the system to best fit their business needs and desires.
That level of stick-to-it-ive-ness is really important!

Do you believe in your ability? Can you see how a true unwavering belief in your ability can lead to being even more and greater than you thought? Napoleon Hill, in Think and Grow Rich, says “whatever your mind can believe, it can achieve.” Believing in your ability to achieve what you want, to create what you dream is the first step.
Maybe you’re stuck in the mindset that you need more education and training? Maybe you even fear that you are not enough?
Self-worth requires that you know you are enough – right now. Often when you feel you are not enough you get caught up in doing things that look like progress. But they are not. Things like continuously downloading webinars, taking another class, reading another book in your field or industry.
In my MasterMind, COMPEL. Speak. Sell we focus on the first of the 5 Frames of a Healthy Bad-Assery Business, which is Vision of Self. You must be willing to work on you to have a successful business.
And working on you means believing in what you already have to offer the world.
I’m not saying don’t continue to learn to develop your abilities. I’m saying believe in your ability right now. What you focus on for success will be different when you do.
by Ann Evanston | Apr 2, 2015 | MasterMind, Transcendence
Almost 3 years ago (my, time flies) I had what I now call a transcendence in my life and business. Not a transformation. I’ll explain more in this article!
[Tweet “Transcendence, for me, is different than transformation. “]
See, I have been a speaker and coach forever! (No, really, since 1990!) I’ve watched myself and others transform…only to transform right back to who they were before the training about two weeks later. Sounds familiar? You have EVERY good intention…might even do one or two things…but you fall back into your “old self.”
In my mind a chameleon transforms. It transforms its color and it can always go back to green. But the chameleon will always be a chameleon. A butterfly transcends. It will never go back to being a caterpillar. It truly has transcended what it was before.
What I’ve realized is that I have transcended many times in my life. You probably have too. Yet knowing how to do it with intention is ultimately the key. So I have taken my psychology background, my 18 years business savvy, and what I went through those years ago and developed a program called “True Transcendence.” (Ok, working title, it may evolve!) See, the ability to truly transcend and NEVER go bback is such an important part of next level of success!
Over the last year I have been “testing” the steps needed to transcend and putting the work and training around it- so exciting!
I began in my Meetup, Women Wine and Wisdom. With the questions I’m asking in that group and the training work I’m developing I’m now able to show others how to transcend and never go back to where they were before! This first live program is coming in June!
I am planning to share some of those things in these blogs, so I hope you will join me on the journey
